Description

M 71 is a Globular Cluster also known as NGC 6838 and is located in constellation Sagitta. It is 12,000 Light Years from Earth. M 71 was discovered in1746 by Philippe Loys de Cheseaux and included by Charles Messier in his catalog in 1780. It was also noted by Koehler at Dresden around 1775.
