Description

M27 is one of the brightest planetary nebula from our view. Its central star has blown off its outer atmosphere/layers. As I understand it the expanding gas bubble emits light and "glows" in the darkness as its molecules are excited by the central stars light energy.

This image is a combination of 757 5 second subs stacked in ASILIVE as the snapshots are being taken.
