Description

Here is my attempt of C/2022 E3 (ZTF), based on the frames I had taken for the animation in the previous post.

This image was taken when the moon was at 100% and from a Bortle 7/8 sky so it was always going to be a challenge to get the tail. Due to a stressful evening the focus is not spot on, I think I have forgotten how to use a Bhatinov mask - will be getting a second EAF.

This has been a fun and frustrating project but it has placed me in a position where I can run two rigs now, perfect when there are limited evenings for imaging due to poor weather.

A number of firsts for me from this project
- 1st comet imaged
- 1st animation
- 2nd rig up and running
- Imaging 2 different objects at the same time
- 1st time imaging without any filter (a filter while helps with LP really does limit the amount of photons getting to the sensor - gotta get out of town, could actually save some time)

The most interesting thing about having the second rig running is that I do not feel so stressed when working with my RC and a monchrome camera, I am more prepared to put more time into a project knowing that I can still collect data in a limited amount of time using a 2nd rig, nice position to be in.
