M57 - Ring Nebula. This is my first small attempt with my StellaLyra RC8. It was a beast to collimate at first (my fault because I messed with it too much while learning my way around it.) Nate on Cloudy Nights built a new backplate to isolate the mirror from the focuser, making collimation much easier. I still have some work to do collimating it and have to shave off 4mm in FL, too. I used a TRSRCCOLLI and Farpoint laser for coarse collimation and went the tedious route of adjusting the focal length, removing the gear, coarse collimation, then putting the gear back on, then platesolve to see the focal length, rinse and repeat, etc., until I got it within something usable, and then used the DSI method to adjust the primary mirror. I would've had this done a long time ago, but the weather in Western North Carolina has been absolutely horrible this year. I just had 2 good nights, and now it is back to rain and clouds again as far as I can forecast. I've had three good clear nights in the last 3 months. Anyway, first light with this beast. It was a task to process as the Ring Nebula blew out. I used Game, Curves, and HDR to bring the detail out.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
