Description

Steve and I are still in the early stages of understanding our new QHY268 camera and how best to optimise its performance and pointing it at a bright star for 600s Ha resulted in some halos within the master stacked Ha sub . It's possible the FlipFlat also influenced the end result with incident light reflecting into the objective lens. The other channels with 300s exposures did not have any noticeable reflection patterns . . . phew. So I had to resort to some thuggery to blend the Ha and I am pleased with my result given the reflection pattern.

I am working through my data backlog (lots of family distractions at the moment) and have further data from the new QHY to process, as well as some older data from the previous QSI683 and even data from the FSQ106/QSI683.  I hope to grab time over Christmas .

I have endeavoured to keep an ethereal quality about the image and resisted pushing the Ha and Lum  data too far in stretches or extreme local contrast enhancements.
