Description

First capture of Saturn and its moons in LRGB. I struggled a lot with the deconvolution settings, eventually having to design an algorithm to derive the deconvolution matrix automatically. Cool development, but still not perfect.

It seems I was out of collimation. I'll see if I can compensate with a tweak of the deconvolution (it assumes isotropic matrices at this time, may make it able to do anisotropic deconvolution instead). Or reshoot after collimating the scope.

Alignment was tough too. The moons didn't move much this time, but they were very dim and the alignment routine wouldn't weigh them properly. Some manual tweaking was needed.

The combination was done in LB-RGB. It makes sense, but B has a lot more spatial resolution than other channels. So I combined it with luminance to build a synthetic luminance with higher spatial resolution. The improvement is noticeable.

I haven't taken bias, but the background noise shows that I clearly should have. I will do so later and upload a new revision... it's tricky because I used various gains all over the place, so I have to take quite a few sets of bias and organize the files a bit.

Frames per channel:

L: 10128 x 17ms (best 10%)

R: 6047 x 25ms (best 15%)

G: 6035 x 25ms (best 15%)

B: 8043 x 30ms (best 10%)
