Description

The Silver Dolar Galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Scluptor and is ~11.5 million light-years from Earth. It is the second brightest galaxy after the Andromeda Galaxy and excluding the Milky Way and its two southern latitudes naked eye satellite galaxies, the Magellanic Clouds. With good viewing conditions it can be seen with binoculars with its long axis extent being almost the same as the Full Moon.
