Description

An inverted image showing the faint jets of NGC 1097. R1 has a right angle bend called the "dog leg." R4 is *very* faint at 27.6 mag/arcsec^2. It needed 30 minute luminance exposures and about 14 hours of total Lum to show even traces of it.

These jets are believed to be the remains of a dwarf galaxy which merged with NGC 1097.
