Description

The Heart Nebula is an emission nebula in Cassiopeia. At its center, the bright blue stars of the open cluster Mellotte 15 (or Collinder 26) are highly visible. Two other small open clusters are also visible: Czernik 10 at 2 o'clock and Tombaugh 4 at 7 o'clock. The lower left corner of the nebula is known as NGC896 and LBN645 (Fish Head Nebula)

I took 97 shots of 300 seconds with the IDAS LPS-P2 filter and 49 with the Optolong-L Enhance filter. I added them all together and extracted the luminance. I used the R, G and B channels of the IDAS filter jacks for the chrominance. Then I did a narrow band fusion with PixInsight using as channel Ha the red channel of the Optolong-L Enhance filter shots, and the blue channel as OIII shots. It was fun.
