Description

M 103 (also known as NGC 581) is an Open cluster located in constellation Cassiopeia. Located within this open cluster there are about a few thousand star. It was discovered by Charles Messier's friend and collaborator Pierre Mechain in 1781 and included in Charles Messier's catalog.It is located about 8,000 to 9,500 light years from earth.
