Description

Horsehead and Flame Nebula (IC 434 & NGC 2024)

The famous horsehead can be seen near the centre of the image. Stars Alnitak and Alnilam of Orions belt are the two brightest stars in the image.

Messed up this image as I carelessly forgot to remove my focusing aid (diffraction mask) so severely reduced the quality of about an hours worth of data. Hence the diffraction spikes can still be seen in the image.
