Description

This object is my personal record in terms of size and works of post-processing. It is 3 degrees wide and luckily I have a 0.73X Reducer to frame this object inside of the sensor chip. The post-processing had some challenges. Tried three ways PixelMath/Photoshop channels/(Photoshop Clipping layer mask method) to mix HOO, and finally, I like the Photoshop Clipping layer method to change to Red and Blue colors for my taste. StarNet++ did a really good job to pull the Nebula out.

Spaghetti Nebula (Simeis 147 / Sh2-240)

Spaghetti Nebula is a supernova remnant in the Milky Way and covers nearly 3 degrees or 6 full moons in the sky crossing the border between the constellations Auriga and Taurus with an almost spherical shell and filamentary structure. The remnant has an estimated distance of approximately 3000 (±350) light-years and an age of approximately 40,000 years.

Simeis 147 was discovered by the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory using a 25-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope in 1952. It is difficult to observe due to its extremely low brightness.

This image data (nebula) were taken through two narrow-band filters (Ha, OIII) and the stars were taken by board band filter (RGB).
