Description

There is a fifth Trapezium star I had never seen before. I left my focal reducer off of my C14, made sure the scope of collimated and my camera was focused, and took a few dozen, 4 second, exposures at ISO 1000. I stacked 9 of them, did a bit of tweaking in Lightroom and called it good.

I have read that these stars are 10-15 solar masses, are within 1.5 lightyears of each other, and are the primary light source for much of the Orion Nebula.

It was a fun little project and simple to do compared to imaging other far more dim objects in the sky.
