Description

M81 (NGC 3031 or Bode's Galaxy) is a  spiral galaxy about 12 million light-years away, with a diameter of 90,000 light years.

Image was compiled with the data from the CDK14 with its 0.66x reducer and this version was processed concentrating on M81 only at a higher resolution.

The relatively fast optical configuration and the low noise QHY600 camera are able to produce clean data with high SNRs in shorter times than the previous setups.

Seeing conditions were poor, I'm not sure if its the change of season or the jet stream but the seeing was about 2.0" a few weeks ago and it was over 3.0" at the time when this data was collected.

Some faint IFN is visible in the background. I used 3nm Ha data to highlight the nebulae (red clouds).
