Description

The Tarantula Nebula, located in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) is the most luminous HII and starburst region of our local group of galaxies. It is also one of the largest HII regions. it is one of the deep sky objects I remember reading about at about age 7, starting my fascination with astronomy. I'm very glad I got the opportunity to image it during this past holiday to Namibia. The image isn't technically perfect but I decided to not pixel-peep and fuss over details too much, to still have plenty of time to spend with my family on this wonderful trip to a fascinating country.
