Description

Comet Neowise as it was flying away from Earth one day after its closest approach on July 23, 2020.  Between the clouds I was somehow able to capture both tails!  The dust tail (white) and the ion tail (blue).

The ancient people believed that the sudden appearance of comet was the sign of a bad omen.  Seeing how 2020 has been so far, I think they were on to something.
