Description

The colorful Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex near the yellow star Antares is one of the most beautiful regions in the night sky for me. The image shows the Rho Ophiuchi region, the bright planet Jupiter and part of the Milky way alt the left.

Antares was very low in the skies between 15° and 9° above the horizon and the moon disturbed the scenery.

I shot this image on a green field on the island Naxos (Greece) with just the built in Astrotracer function of my Pentax K3ii. The camera was set on a normal tripod. For the image 67 half minute exposures were made with the 50mm/2.8 macro at F/3.2 and ISO 800.
