Description

Wide-field image of the Andromeda Galaxy, best seen from northern latitudes. Andromeda Galaxy covers an area around 6 times that of the full moon and is easily seen with the native eye on a dark night. This is my first ever capture of Andromeda (centre of image), a galaxy that is approaching us and will collide with the Milky Way in around 4.5 billion years. You can also just make out the Triangulum Galaxy also as the fuzzy patch at about 7 O’Clock from Andromeda, near the blue-to-red sky transition.
