Description

Here we have the Tau Canis Majoris Cluster or NGC 2362. This is a very interesting cluster which is likely to be less than 10-million years old. The cluster is located within the enormous Hii region of the galaxy which is known as Sh2-310. The central star, Tau Canis Majoris, a type O supergiant has evolved off the main sequence. This compact cluster has approximately 500 members and is located approximately 4,900 light years from us.

I originally imaged the cluster using a OSC camera. I was thinking that if the cluster was located within Sh2-310, then perhaps I could get some hydrogen in NB. So I went back and did several hours of that and did the combination in PixInsight. The original image shown was from the OSC without the H-alpha.

I hope you like it and Clear Skies!
