Description

This planetary nebula is located 14000 light years away in the constellation of Cygnus at a declination of +38 degrees.  Its far distance from us makes it appear small and faint to us.  The PN spans 25 arc-seconds in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 1.7 light years.

I am not listing a magnitude for this PN.  The only reported magnitude I could find for this PN is magnitude 20.2, reported by multiple sources.  The PN appears to be much brighter than that to me, so I think those sources are all reporting an erroneous number.

Like many PN, the outer rim is dominated by HII.  In this case, the OIII signal is so weak that I did not even take any more OIII subs after seeing the first one.  I do not see a progenitor star in the central region.  A faint outer halo is seen extending to about twice the diameter of the PN.
