Description

The Cone Nebula is a 4 light years large dark cloud in the constellation Unicorn. The dark cloud belongs to the star forming region NGC 2264 at a distance of 2400 light years from our solar system. It was named after it's shape. Sometimes the whole emission nebula in the area of NGC 2264 is also called cone nebula.
