Description

We seem to have forgotten this bright Green comet. Taken during heavy waning gibbous moonlight, the comet is sporting a delicate dust orange tail. It will enter into the same field as the Flaming Star Nebula on December 8 and 9th (without moonlight)

The bright bluish star, top left, is +1.67 magnitude double star EL Nath at 134 ly and a hot (13,600K) class B star 700x the sun's luminosity.  It shares both constellations of Taurus and Auriga.

Stars are rich in this part of the sky as 306 x 60 second exposures taken during heavy waning gibbous moonlight Dec 3-4th, 2020 can surely attest.

I used a Celestron RASA11 telescope and a ZWO asi 294mcP camera from June Lake California (Next to Yosemite).

The  comet is sporting a delicate dust orange tail.  It will enter into the same field as the Flaming Star Nebula on December 8 and 9th (without moonlight) in the constellation of Auriga.

Thanks folks.Dan Bartlett
