Description

Vast nebular complex in the Cepheus region bordering Cassiopeia. Ngc7822 is an emission nebula, rich in hydrogen, surrounded by interstellar dust and dark nebulosity. About 3000 light years away, it is located on the edge of a giant molecular cloud in Cepheus.

The dust, the interstellar winds and the hot columns of gas make this area a hotbed of young and hot stars.
