Description

The Rosette Nebula, also known as Caldwell 49, is a large and complex wreath-like nebula, surrounding a bright galactic star cluster known as NGC 2244. This photo was taken on January 3, 2014 and included 40 exposures at 60 seconds each (40 minutes total) using a Canon T4i and EF400mm f/5.6L USM lens at ISO 800. The cluster was tracked using a ZEQ25GT mount from iOptron. Photo's were stacked in DSS and final editing done in Corel Paintshop Pro X6 and X5.
