Description

The Rossette Nebula is a large, circular emission nebula in the constellation Monoceros. It surrounds a cluster of hot young stars know as the Rossette Cluster (NGC 2244).

This open cluster within the nebula and was discovered by Jhon Flamsteed in 1960.
