Description

Melotte15 - the mandatory long focal length target 🙂. 

I was not planning on this target when I started, but ran into guiding issues last month and wanted to test on a target each night after I made some corrections to the imaging train. This was high enough at the beginning of the night to test. 

This was shot at varying rotation angles (to check if the Dec axis would stay put) over the course of several nights that were close enough. When I got everything under decent control, this was the the final framing. 

I was hesitant to add the initial subs from October as their orientation was different. I had the time to at-least run them through stacking just to see how they were. But when I brought them all together during registration and integration , PixInsight kind of filled all the missing regions nicely. That was a pleasant surprise. 

I took it though the default SHO combination and processing. Deconvolution is still not under control. I realize I am spending way too much time at that step testing and retesting. But having done a few targets with this setup, I think I have the settings close enough to run with on new stacks.
