Description

10% of the 10,000 frames.

We have been experiencing very poor conditions here in Arizona the last weeks. We have had some wildfires and the monsoon season has also kicked in resulting in a lot of clouds.

So I went back to some lunar work I did in January and took a look through all the stuff I had captured and thought this image might be fun to fully process.

We have in this frame, the Cassini crater which is very interesting and an old crater that has been flooded with lava and peppered with many subsequent impacts. Moving northeasterly, we have the Lunar Alps which is divided by the Vallis Alpes "trough", for a lack of a better term.

While not a spectacular image, I was pleased with it because one can discern the rille running through the Vallis fairly well. I understand this can be quite a challenge but this was one of those rare nights when seeing was just terrific.

I am going to try to do some more lunar which I greatly enjoy and some planetary work with the hopes of improving on past efforts. I think that plan works well during the monsoon season where clouds are constantly rolling in and out and is a wonderful change of pace.

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy this one. Clear Skies and good health!
