Description

An interesting, and rarely imaged, trio of 12-14th magnitude galaxies, lies within the Great Square of Pegasus, about 200 million light-years away.

NGC 7771 is the large, edge-on spiral near center, about 75 000 light-years across, with two smaller galaxies just below it.

NGC 7771 shows a tidal feature strongly inclined to its disk and aligned with the compact companion NGC 7770.

Large spiral NGC 7769 is seen face-on, to the right.

A couple of good nights with transparency and seeing above average.
