Description

I did not intend on imaging this object. Before I went outside I decided that I would try and image either the Cocoon Nebula or the Elephant's Trunk Nebula. I was going to check where each object was in the sky and how close they were to meridian. However I noticed Pegasus and remembered

last night how many hours I spent trying to locate the comet without success. My ego had been damaged. So I thought let me just spend a few minutes to see if I could find the comet. I checked a star chart to see where the comet was located. I put my red dot finder on the spot where I thought the comet should be and took a test image. The comet was in my image. So I decided to image it. It was clear when I set up my equipment. However after taking two light frames the sky clouded up and I fought with clouds the rest of the night. This comet is relatively dim at magnitude 12 and it is very small compared to other comets I've imaged.

Description: I completely reprocessed my image. This time I chose images to align and stack where the comet had not yet reached the two small stars to the left of the core of the comet. The change is subtle but to me the comet looks better in this image.
