Description

M101 is a giant spiral galaxy spanning 170,000 light years across (twice the size of our Milky Way) and is estimated to comprise over 1 trillion stars. It is located 25 million light years away from us in the constellation Ursa Major. (Source: NASA)

This image incorporates two sets of data, one from 2020 and one from 2021, with the latter utilising my new mount. It is a heavy crop due to the focal length of 430mm and orientation differences between the two datasets (oops!). I include an even closer crop as an intermediate image.

Thanks for looking!
