These are old data, processed in pandemic isolation time, while waiting for going out to take new images !!

This image has been taken in january 2018 with a Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 lens, @86mm, f2.8. Sadly, this lens has an appreciable chromatic aberration, so red stars (e.g. gamma crux) appears washed out, while blue ones appears exagerated. Dealing with purple halos doesn' t help to keep stars color balanced either! Probably, an exposure time of 60" was too long to preserve stars color information using this lens with such bright stars. The lens also presents atigmatism.

Anyway, the image was taken in a beautiful dark sky location in Bariloche, Argentina!! Family vacations, excellent chocolate, trout fly fishing, lakes, mountains, good beer and a wonderful dark sky!! What else a human being could ask for? A decent lens?! It would have been too much, would't it?!
