Description

NOt the best seeing when this one was captured (later on it improved significantly). Nevertheless, this crater is so interesting that I wanted to process and post it to Astrobin, if only for my personal record to have it at hand easily... I have found that my "page" in Astrobin is much tidier than my hard drives!!!

One of the nice aspects of this area is the contrast in albedo and color between the highlands and even between the maria. Interestingly, inside the crater you can find both types of mineral.

A real pity tha the serpentine ridge is not clearly visible (wonderful info here https://www.hou.usra.edu/meetings/lpsc2014/eposter/1155.pdf) , maybe is beyond my scope limit....or my seeing,... or my skills... Nevertheless a good reason to keep coming back to this wonderful crater from time to time...

The goal has been to obtain a natural color, the process followed: 30000 samples at 100 fps => Autostakkert (10% selected) => Lightroom:

1) Levels and slight topaz sharpen

2) three copies of itself with different expo and color sturation blended in photomatix to create a color layer

3) blend both results in photoshop with color based

4) adjust hue and levels in lightroom.
