Description

NGC6946, Fireworks Galaxy, is a rather nearby spiral Galaxy on the border between the constellations Cepheus and Cygnus. This Galaxy is undergoing a tremendous burst of star formation; it has a visual magnitude of +8.88 ; apparent size of 11.4 x 10.8 arcmin. It is at a distance of about 22 million light-years from Earth.
