Description

Arp 18, or ngc 4088, is a grand design spiral galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major at a distance of approximately 50 Mly. Its apparent size is 5.8 x 2.2 arc minutes.

Below is its companion ngc 4085, and to its left MCG+09-20-092, at a distance of 750 Mly.

Ncg 4088 and 4085 belong to the M109 group of galaxies.
