Description

This is an image of the Lobster Claw Nebula (Sh2-157). It is a bright emission nebula that lies near the edge of the constellation Cassiopeia in the northern sky. It is located approximately 11000 light years from the Earth. In this false color, narrowband image Sulfur is mapped to the red channel, Hydrogen to the green channel and Oxygen to the blue channel.
I imaged this target during the last two full moon cycles as the targets that I am working on in Auriga and Taurus are too close to the moon to image while it is full.
