Description

This image captures a series of dark nebulae located in the constellation of Taurus at a declination of +27 degrees. This field spans 2 degrees in our apparent view. As shown on the annotated mouseover, the nebulae cascade in order from B213 at upper right down to B218 at the lower left edge. As with most dark nebulae, not much has been written about this object.

Several small bright white nebulae are seen within the dark nebulae, all powered by variable stars obscured by dust clouds. At the top right is FS Tau, and at the bottom left are DG Tau and CoKu FV Tau c.
