Description

The last time I attempted this target, it was with my new William Optics SpaceCat 51. This was the first target I went after with that little scope. Which was almost exactly 2 years ago. I think it's fitting that I return to it with the same scope using my new QHY268C this time, instead of the Fuji X-T100.

One noticeable difference between the two cameras is how much easier it is to pick up the H-alpha emission nebula. The Fuji X-T100 is more sensitive to H-alpha that most unmodified cameras, but it's still just a stock camera. I'm amazed at how well the full spectrum QHY268C performs.

In this image, the Rosette Nebula was intentionally offset from the center of the field in order to include more of the surrounding nebulosity in the frame. The Original version consists of just under an hour of total integration time. Hoping to add more data to draw out more detail.
