Description

This is a small planetary (17 arc seconds across) is fairly dim at around 14.8 magnitude (V). The central star is faint at around magnitude 20, and is hard to pick out from the nebula background, but showed up once I sharpened it enough. The Gaia mission database has photometric data on the central star, but does not have parallax data (maybe due to interference from the bright surrounding nebula), so there is no good distance estimate. Based on the angular size of the nebula and assuming a size of 1.1 light years across, that would put its distance at roughly around 13,000 light years. This would put the absolute magnitude of the central star at around 7.8, consistent with a dimming dead star that has almost settled into its final white dwarf stage.

Duoband and IR/UV Cut data was combined for the nebula, while the IRCut data was used for the stars. Live-stacked luck imaging exposures were 3 seconds for the duoband images, and 5 seconds for IR/UV Cut images. Live stacking was performed in SharpCap.
