Description

You know i am not a planetary-imager. But once in a while i'll try something out. Here is an attempt of imaging the goddess of love and beauty. Well, the image isn't really a beauty, but i thought i'll share it anyway. The most difficult thing is to focus for me. When imaging DSOs, this is totally easy: Use a bright star, use your Bahtinov, you are done in seconds. But how to get these dancing discs sharp? I don't know...

Well, anyways, i tried my best back in spring 2020 and this is the result. Sobering. In the not so far future i'll buy a Powermate 2x (or should i go for 4x?), so the planets will get bigger, but i doubt that this will make it easier to focus them @F/16 (or @F/32?). The main reason is i want to image craters on the moon which seems to be easier than these planets... But i am pretty sure that i'll try planets also in the future, so expect more wobbling, unsharp images of them from me :-)
