Description

NGC 3981 is an unbarred spiral galaxy located 62 million light-years away in the constellation of Crater. It is a member of the NGC 4038 Group, which is part of the Virgo Supercluster.

Since I have no astro darkness at my own obsy I take the opportunity to process some sothern hemisphere data. This is LRGB data from Telescope Live at the El Sauce hosting facility at 1500m elevation in Río Hurtado, Coquimbo Region, Chile. RGB data contains 26 x 20 min red, 21 x 20 min green and 25 x 20 min blue. Lum is 33 x 20 min min.
