Multi-palette Wizard test

Version B - same script with just 'one degree of freedom' so that values are limited to 0% or 100% so that, starting top left and going right RGB maps to:

1. HOO, 2. HOH, 3. HHO, 4. HHH (i.e greyscale), 5. SOO, 6. SOH, 7. SHO, 8. SHH

It's been raining and cloudy for ages. No new astrodata to process. Finished all the reprocessing I need to do.

So what now? I've scripted a 'Palette Picker' to display many combinations of narrowband data to see what works/looks good. Of course, opinions on what looks good will differ greatly from person to person.

I've run the script on the same data as my Wizard Nebula starting with stretched versions of Ha, OIII and SII narrowband data and this is the result.

Version A - '3 degrees of freedom'

The Red channel changes the SII/Ha ratio from 0%/100% to 100%/0% in 4 steps.

The Green channel changes the Ha/OIII ratio from 0%/100% to 100%/0% in 4 steps.

The Blue channel changes the Ha/OIII ratio from 0%/100% to 100%/0% in 4 steps.

So 4 x 4 x 4 combinations, hence the 8x8 square.

I would like to have included more options but it would have been impossible to display with this resolution.

Useful? Pseudo-arty nonsense? Hubble HSO palette or nothing?

It kept me occupied for a day anyway ;-)
