Home Made (and better) Dew Shield

Description

I replaced my Celestron dew shield with a home made version out of Reflectix (well known to be used around the entire SCT as a thermal insulator) and painted with black Plasti Dip paint (a flexible, insulating, non-slip, and durable rubber coating air-dry paint).  It is much lighter as well as  easier to adjust and remove than expensive, commercially bought dew shields.  Total cost is about $20.  While a good dew shield is essential, I frankly think the greater benefit for me is more for blocking out stray light.
