Description

This is not the perfect Jupiter image, but for me it's pretty darn good! Just a couple of nights after opposition under a bright moon. Focus is a bit soft. It's a challenge for me with my C8 at F/25 even though I use the Celestron Focus Motor, and have tried different approaches. This is the best 70% of 2000 subs. Seeing was pretty good.

Other than the Televue Powermate 2.5, I used an Baader IR/UV filter, and ZWO ADC. Interestingly enough I took an image at F/10 without any of this, and it seemed to show better detail. But that was earlier in the evening, and my goal was to image with the larger focal length.

I stacked the images using AS!3, sharpened with RegiStax 6. This was my third attempt processing this stack. It's easy to over-process, etc. I further cleaned the image with Adobe PS. I like how the autotone seemed to produce nicer colors and a bit of Denoise using Topaz AI Clear. Amazing what all this sw can do. Please critique and enjoy!
