Description

This object, also known as PK 103+00.1, is a planetary nebula located 6000 light years away in the constellation of Cepheus at a declination of +57 degrees.

My good friend Rudi brought this obscure object to my attention with his recent beautiful capture of this object, the 2nd on Astrobin. It is a beautiful ring shaped PN with a small diameter of about 1 arc-minute, which corresponds to a diameter of about 2 light years. As Rudi says in his post, the 2 bright stars at the center are likely foreground stars and not associated with the nebula.
