Description

NGC 7640 is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Andromeda. Its true size is about 86 000 light years, so it is much smaller than our Milky Way. At the southern edge of the galaxy is a large active region about 1500 light years across.

Galactic cirrus is found across the entire field of view.
