Description

This is a heavily cropped image to show M6. The image was a 60s exposure captured through the horizon haze, in a twilight sky; the full image can be seen at Vers B. At no time was I able to see the cluster either naked eye, or with my 15x70 binoculars, so it was a lot of trial and error to point the camera onto the target.
I was hoping to capture both M6 and M7 in the same FOV, neither of which I've been able to see or image previously, due to their very low maximum altitude from  my location. M6 transits at ~5 deg, with M7 a mere 2.5 deg.
The full image (Vers B) shows where M6 was relative to the distant tree line, which limited my horizon to ~3 deg, so M7 could not be seen. I had identified a location about 3 miles from my home which gives a very good horizon, but as luck (bad) would have it there was a row of trees due south, which meant that I could not get M7.
Anyway, whilst this is not a particularly good image, if does allow me to tick M6 off my quest to image all 110 Messier targets. I need to find somewhere else with a close to 0 deg horizon for me to capture M7.

Description: Full size image to give context of the very low altitude of M6 from my location and the brightness of the sky when the image was captured.
