Canon 600D Cooling System

Description

Because of bad weather I finally managed to build a Peltier cooling system for my Canon 600Da. Summer is coming and the nights are getting warmer. From a sensor temperature of approx. 30°C it starts to get really very noisy.

The cooling system works much better than expected. At an outside temperature of 27°C, the sensor has approx. 40°C during continuous exposure. With the cooling, I can cool the back of the camera down to below 0°C and the sensor that is directly behind it, to below 20°C. The difference is huge. Here is also a before and after example with a 10 minutes dark at ISO 1600.

It is quite a power guzzler of course, but with a 40Ah battery it goes through the night for everything. The weight is 500g, same as a battery grip, so it's not too bad. I'm looking forward to warm summer nights and noise-free pictures.
