Description

The dense region of dust and gas appear as rippling lanes that give the Flaming star nebula its name. IC 405 is an emission and a reflection nebula located in the constellation of Auriga about 1,500 light years away. The nebula is mainly made up of hydrogen, but also contains carbon-rich dust, which comprises the blue regions of the nebula and reflects the light of AE Auriga.(The central star).
