Description

About 200 MLy from us in the constellation of Pegasus lies this interesting

galaxy group. ngc 7769, 7770 and 7771 make up this pretty grouping. ngc 7769 is

the peculiar face-on spiral, magn. 12.1, surface brightness 13.8, size 2.8' x

2.2'. ngc 7771 is the edge on barred spiral, magn. 12.3, surface brightness 13.4

and size 2.7' x 1.3'. ngc 7770 is the little spiral below 7771, magn. 14.5 and

sur. br. 14.1. I can't tell you anything about the other, unconnected faint

spirals in the image but they must be amazingly distant if the bright galaxies

are 200 MLy away.

This image consists of only 19 x 90 second exposures before the clouds rolled

in, very frustrating as things were going quite nicely at the time.
