Description

This Abell planetary nebula, also known as PK060-4.1, is located in the constellation of Vulpecula at a declination of +22 degrees.  It is a magnitude 15.2 PN which spans 40 arc-seconds in our apparent view.  I could find little information on this PN, including distance.  If its diameter is the typical 2 light years of a PN, its distance from us would be 10,000 light years.

The HII and OIII signals are fairly similar for this oval PN. Interesting texture is seen in the inner region, looking like an hourglass shape.  A faint star appears at the center which could be the progenitor.

This PN is located only 1 degree south of one of the most famous PNe, M27 (the Dumbbell Nebula).
